Reverie episode 7 preview: The world of dark reveries

When Reverie episode 7 airs on NBC in one week’s time, you have to be prepared for things to move in a dark, dangerous direction. How much so? Well, let’s just say that at the center of this episode is the concept of dark reveries, places where everyone could be in danger at every turn. Onira Tech at least likes to have some rules; they aren’t out to cause anarchy within their dream worlds, or convince people to live out demented fantasies or anything else.

Below, the Reverie episode 7 synopsis offers up some more information as to what you can expect to see from here:

The team works together to save the life of a wrongly imprisoned boy and Mara (Sarah Shahi) is introduced to the dangerous world of Dark Reveries where the normal rules don’t apply. Dennis Haysbert, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Kathryn Morris and Jessica Lu also star.

One of the things that we’re left to wonder through this synopsis is whether or not the series is going to be diving more into what we learned at the end of this past episode — that Mara’s brother-in-law Ray is still alive. There is so much pain emotionally that comes with that, largely because we’re seeing a situation here where Mara has to be continually reminded of this guy, even though he seems to be braindead and/or in a coma. This could veer the series into some rather-interesting directions as we get closer to the end of the season. We’re just going to have to wait and see precisely what transpires. For now, though, we’re excited to see Reverie dive into this world and explore it further.

Hopefully along the way, the series does find more of a role for the supporting characters. Charlie, for example, did have all that much to do at all in episode 6.
