Criminal Minds season 14: Should Aubrey Plaza return as Cat Adams?
Oh, and have we also noted yet that her performance alongside Matthew Gray Gubler in particular is tremendous? It is. The last appearance that she made was pretty terrifying, especially when it comes to some of the specific threats that she put on his life.
We feel like we’ve already laid out some of the merits to getting Plaza back on the show, and no matter where she is, there’s always an easy reason in which to write her into the story of the show. We think that production would probably have her back in a heartbeat. Moving forward, we would almost compare her situation to what’s happening with Natalie Dormer over on Elementary. Plaza is extremely busy — she’s been a major part of Legion over on FX, among other gigs — and you have to find a time that both works for her and the story that you are trying to tell.
For now, though, we do think that Cat Adams is one of the best recurring villains that Criminal Minds has — even though she has only appeared on the show a few times, she has made a lasting impression and is now one of those adversaries we absolutely cannot wait to see in the future, if another appearance of course happens. If it does, it probably wouldn’t be at the start of a season — this feels like one of those castings Criminal Minds would save until you get around to a big episode in November or February sweeps.

No. Enough is enough with that arc. Maybe they can bring back Mauve. Prentiss didn’t die, so why not? People come and go so quickly on the show.
