Bull season 3 debate: Should we see Isabella Colon again?
When you look back at the season 2 finale, it’s clear that Bull still has some feelings for his ex. After all, he wouldn’t have had some of those dreams about stopping her wedding otherwise! While Bull is not the sort of guy to openly express to having regrets, it does feel like some are there with this relationship. He and Isabella had at one point something great, but his distance and focus on work are at least two of the reasons the two started to fall apart. She is one of the great loves of Bull’s life, and potentially even the greatest one to date. After all, we haven’t seen Bull focus too much romantically on other characters when they are not actually around!
So with all of this, should there ben an opportunity to see Isabella again on Bull season 3? There’s certainly a case to be made for it! I love drama with this show, and there is obviously a lot of drama that can be mined from seeing Isabella again and from these two characters talking things out. They don’t necessarily need to get back together, mostly because Isabella’s clearly in love with someone else and having her flip back to Bull suddenly would feel like something out of a soap opera. Yet, clearly there are some unresolved issues and if Bull can have some honest conversations with her, maybe there’s a chance to get a little bit of closure so he can start to move forward and pursue more serious relationships elsewhere.
Granted, there is also a chance to explore that a little bit even if Isabella is not around. Take, for example, the idea of Bull and Benny sharing some scenes together where Bull confides in his friend about how he’s feeling on Isabella’s wedding day. While Benny and his sister don’t exactly have the best relationship, it’s hard to imagine he would miss her wedding day. Unless it happens over the summer break and there’s a big time jump, this feels like the sort of thing that is going to be addressed still moving forward.
I’m not sure that there is a chance for Bull to turn back time and work things out with Isabella. Yet, it does feel like Yara Martinez’s character, whether she appears on-screen or not, still does have a role to play in the future of the story.
