Wynonna Earp season 3 spoilers: More news on Christmas episode!

Wynonna Earp season 3 trailer

There are two things that are wonderful about there being a Wynonna Earp Christmas episode. For starters, it’s a Wynonna Earp Christmas episode! What more do you need? Beyond that, there is the funny fact that it’s airing in the middle of the summer. Because of when the show airs during the year, they don’t really have a chance to do a Christmas-themed episode around the holiday season; maybe this is something that Syfy can replay down the line on December 25.

So what is actually going to happen over the course of this episode? Well, it seems like many of your favorite things about Wynonna Earp as a series are going to be present here, just in an extra-special holiday packaging that should put a smile on your face.

Speaking on the subject in a new interview with TVLine, show executive producer Emily Andras had the following to say:

“As expected, an Earp Christmas is anything but traditional — the only thing you can count on is heavily rummed-up eggnog, and an anything-but-festive demon. Still, what better time than the holidays to speak the truth and ask for what you really want, whether it’s a chance to play Santa or a passionate kiss under the mistletoe?”

Basically, this episode is going to be dangerous, funny, romantic, and action-packed. It’s the perfect celebration of the holidays! We’re also just curious as to how much the story of the episode will be rooted in everything that is going on in the season. If you try to make it more of a standalone story, for example, you probably boost its replayability when it gets around to the holiday season. That’s one of the tricky things when it comes to making most Christmas episodes, since more often than not it is a delicate balancing act between a lot of different things that you want to potentially achieve.
