Outlander season 4: See Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe’s messages at end of filming

Outlander

Earlier today Outlander season 4 filming officially came to a close, but even before that Starz put out a video featuring Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe celebrating the end of production. Obviously, that was filmed before filming was actually complete, but with it finally over, we’ve got a pair of additional messages from the series stars to share below.

So what happens following the end of filming? Typically, a warp party where everyone gets together, blows off some steam, and then eventually gets a ton of rest after so much hard work.

For those wondering, pending a surprise there probably won’t be any photos from the wrap party when it happens — we know that this is something that Balfe commented on social media about, and it’s actually fairly standard across the industry. While there are so many different things that are filmed/shot for public consumption, the wrap party is one of the few chances for everyone to just let loose, enjoy themselves, and in theory not have to worry about someone taking pictures left and right for the world to see.

Now that this phase of Outlander is officially coming to a close, the next one begins: A rather lengthy hiatus, at least for the cast, until they have to start promoting the series later this fall. Filming on Outlander season 5 will not begin until February, but as many of you out there know, work on the show is rarely ever done! There’s always something more going on when it comes to post-production, writing, editing, location scouting, or doing just about anything and everything else leading into the start of the next season.

For now, we say goodbye to filming updates, but of course there will be so much more to share in the weeks ahead.
