See Outlander season 4 wrap video with Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe
In the clip below, the two actors celebrate filming wrapping in a humorous way, with Heughan joking that Balfe slept through the whole thing and with Caitriona showing up at the end with “coffee” — which may actually be brandy.
As we noted in our article earlier, this is a tremendous achievement for the entire Outlander cast and crew. Production first started for the fourth season of the series all the way back in October 2017, and other than a few short breaks for holidays, there hasn’t been all that much of a hiatus in the midst of it. This is a long, tiring shoot (even if it is fulfilling), and we like to think that there are some long naps in the future for many of the cast members!
Yet, we also don’t think that the naps are going to be too long given that there is a lot of work that is still coming up for Heughan and Balfe in particular. They’ve both got some prominent movie roles coming up this summer, and we imagine that many of the other cast members are going to be able to find some jobs of their own. Filming for season 5 will kick off at some point in February.
Of course, for the hard-working Outlander crew work is still FAR from done! They will be working tirelessly behind the scenes in order to perfect, edit, and score these episodes leading up to the premiere this November. Meanwhile, the writers and producers will need to congregate long before the start of filming to put together some of the stories that are coming up next.
