Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular 2018 start time, performers

Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular

For those of you interested in checking out the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on NBC tonight, we’ve got a few more details for you as to what’s coming!

NBC is broadcasting the special tonight starting on 8:00 p.m. Eastern tonight, and they’re featuring a lineup of performers that includes the lines of Kelly Clarkson, Ricky Martin, Blake Shelton, and Keith Urban — meanwhile, the American Ninja Warrior duo of Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila are going to be serving as the hosts for the proceedings. For a few more specific details as to what you’re going to see, check out details below via an NBC press release:

The 42nd annual Macy’s 4th of July firework display over the East River will feature an incredible pyrotechnic spectacle, igniting the skyline with more than 75,000 shells, making it Macy’s largest firework display since the Millennial Celebration in 2000. The incredible show will be accompanied by the West Point Band and Glee Club and their beautiful renditions of patriotic classics such as “Stars & Stripes Forever” and “The Star Spangled Banner.” In celebration of the 100th anniversary of “God Bless America,” the special will also feature an all-new recording of the patriotic classic by Kelly Clarkson with the West Point Band and Glee Club as the backdrop to the show’s famed Golden Mile, an array of golden-hued effects for a mile across the river.

Basically, if you’re not attending fireworks somewhere else tonight, this is a good substitute and a way to get in a healthy dose of patriotism. This is one of a couple different holiday-themed events that NBC is doing in conjunction with Macy’s at the moment. Remember that the company is also doing their annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will air on NBC a little bit later this year.

Of course, throughout the night tonight expect some cross-promotion with some other NBC programs, as well.
