Suits season 8 promo: Is Robert Zane taking over the firm?

Waiting into the start of Suits season 8, one of the things that was clear was that Robert Zane was going to be coming over to Specter Litt as that new partner. This was one of the best ways to stabilize the firm, but it also marked a pretty interesting new chapter in the series. Robert is not the sort of attorney who just sits by and let other people have all the glory. He is a power player joining a firm with two other big power players in Louis Litt and Harvey Specter. These guys are going to fight just as much as they are going to work together.

Based on the new preview that we see below for Suits season 8, one of the big struggle right away this coming season is the fact that Robert looks to be taking over as managing partner. Not only that, but he seems very much intent on figuring out a way to conquer it from within. We see that in a number of different ways, and that includes via Samantha Wheeler, Katherine Heigl’s character on the show. The promo makes it seem as though she is someone that he took with her, and she is very much aggressive and interested in being a partner in her own right. These two characters are very much essential into what comes next with the series.

Now, one of the biggest mysteries when it comes to Suits season 8 is how the writers are going to integrate Robert Zane into the story given that Wendell Pierce the actor is not a series regular. As a matter of fact, he has some other work that could limit his involvement. Is Robert just going to be a character who exists off-screen for a significant part of the season, or are Harvey And Louis going to find a way in which to limit his presence? These are questions that are very much worth asking right now, especially since Suits has a sort of Game of Thrones quality to it where you have a number of people constantly jockeying for the top positions. Samantha Wheeler is an interesting new addition to this battle, mostly because she is such an unknown and we don’t know all of her specific motivations.

Luckily, we are going to learn more about her on the new chapter of Suits on USA very soon. The show premieres in just two weeks from this writing, and we’ve got a feeling that more sneak peeks and promos are going to be coming available in the coming weeks.
