Criminal Minds season 14 premiere date revealed
In a new post on Twitter today (see below), series executive producer Harry Bring confirmed that the long-running CBS show is going to officially return come Wednesday, September 26 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. That should not come as a shock to anyone, mostly because of the fact that it means that CBS is, at least in part, operating under their typical fall schedule. Sometimes Criminal Minds does premiere later because of extended episodes of Survivor or the Big Brother finale happening during premiere week, but this is not happening in this case.
When the long-running crime procedural does return, one of the primary orders of business is going to be figuring out a way in which to follow the massive cliffhanger, one in which the characters of Spencer Reid and Penelope Garcia were in grave danger. The good news is that there hasn’t been any conversation suggesting that either Matthew Gray Gubler or Kirsten Vangsness will be leaving the show, but we’re still worried about the characters regardless. Even if they do emerge okay, there is a good chance this sort of traumatic event will stick with them. We’ve already seen Reid having some difficult coping with the aftereffects of everything that he went through in prison back during season 12.
There are still some other details to be worked out about Criminal Minds, including whether or not it ends up being the final season. Hopefully, it’s not and the show continues to air new episodes for at least a few more years. With there being some new blood in the cast still with Matt Simmons, Luke Alvez, and Tara Lewis, in addition to the return of Emily Prentiss, there are many more stories that can still be told.
