America’s Got Talent season 13: The auditions, Judge Cuts ahead

America's Got Talent

Is America’s Got Talent new tonight on NBC? We wish that we could say that it was but, unfortunately, NBC is giving it the night off. That does make a certain degree of sense, largely because we’re so close to the Fourth of July and there is more or less zero reason for the network to damage the ratings of their #1 show by airing it right before a holiday.

So for the sake of this article, we want to take a moment to ponder over what some of the schedule will be coming up for this series.

Tuesday, July 10 – This is when the final audition episode of the season will air, and at this point you will finally learn about Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer act. She has already hyped the person up in an interview on The Tonight Show, but has not specified who it is or what exactly they do. We personally do think it’s a singer just because that’s what the pattern has proven to be with a number of these acts over time.

Tuesday, July 17 – The Judge Cuts formally begin on NBC, and this is when many of the acts who don’t get a Golden Buzzer but advance get to compete again in front of the judges. NBC has yet to confirm who the celebrity judges are who are coming on board for this round. Each one of them has a Golden Buzzer of their own to use. (For the record, Judge Cuts are probably our favorite part of the competition, mostly because there’s a sense of fun that’s there with a new judge, you already know the acts, and you don’t have some hyped-up audience chiming in at any given moment. It’s a breath of fresh air.)

There is no official date that we’ve seen for the live shows just yet, but it’s fair to say that they begin in August. In the past there have been four Judge Cuts shows, so following that logic the live shows could begin on August 14 … provided that AGT doesn’t make up for this week by doubling up elsewhere.
