Outlander notes: The Land Con 2 wraps; Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton back to work

Outlander season 4

We’ve got another edition of Outlander notes for you this morning, as we’re winding down what has been a very busy weekend for the cast.

Today marked, for example, the final edition of The Land Con 2 convention in Paris, a chance to see many of the different actors affiliated with the show. Today, there were panels featuring Richard Rankin, Steven Cree, John Bell, Lauren Lyle, Charlie Hiett, and Cesar Domboy. There were discussions about acting inspirations, the challenges of filming last season “at sea” (really a set in South Africa), and also how many actors love to do scenes that really advance the story. You can see a few more bits of information over at the convention’s official Twitter. There wasn’t too much that was shared in terms of the upcoming season, but that’s not really the purpose of these conventions. It’s more about interacting with fans, taking photos, and creating some great memories. We do think that it’s a great opportunity for many of the cast to appreciate even more how much they are cared for by the fans.

As for where Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, and Sophie Skelton were on the day, the trio have more work to do! There is still a little bit more filming to be done, and of course these three are going to have more responsibilities with this show than almost anyone else. Filming will be done before long, though, and at that point they can all tackle some other projects during the off-season. Rest assured that we’ll continue to have updates on everyone at that point as more news comes out. There is also another convention coming in Las Vegas next month with a pretty outstanding roster, including Balfe, Skelton, Rankin, Domboy, Cree, Lotte Verbeek, Gary Lewis, and others. Check out the roster here; unfortunately, Heughan had to cancel due to work conflicts.
