Famous in Love season 3 story already mapped out; how could it be told?

Famous in Love season 2

At this point, it is clear that a Famous in Love season 3 is not happening at Freeform. Meanwhile, it’s also likely that it’s not happening anywhere else. While the series clearly has its fans, at the same time there may just not be enough of them to get the show revived in a traditional form.

Yet, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the story itself is over. In a couple of posts late Friday, show executive producer Marlene King confirmed that she already had the story for the third season mapped out. She also noted that she would love to figure out a way to deliver some of the story to fans — she specifically mentions a podcast, and that could serve as a fun medium to tell the remainder of this story. It’s probably too far in the past for most of this show’s viewers to be aware, but there was a time in which audio-based storytelling was a really big deal at around the advent of television. There is a sort of revival of that happening now with podcasts becoming more and more widespread.

In general, though, we mostly just appreciate that we are seeing more showrunners come up with unconventional ways to wrap up their stories. We’ve seen Dark Matter creator Joseph Mallozzi use social media to deliver more of what his ideas for season 4 could be; meanwhile, we’ve seen other shows in the past use everything from comics to movies to books to wrap up some of their stories.

Famous in Love fans do deserve an ending, and if this is the way that they get it, we’re absolutely all about that.
