Save Shadowhunters billboard launches in Times Square
Below, you can see an image of the billboard, which is certainly prominent. They call these sorts of billboards “roadblocks,” mostly because they’re supposed to capture attention to the point where traffic slows down to look at them.
Let’s start the analysis portion of this article with something simple: The act of this itself is impressive, largely because there are so few fandoms who have tried some of the things that the Shadowhunters fandom have with this sort of scale. They’ve really put their best foot forward in trying to save the show using passion and positive energy. We love the idea of this, just as much as we love the fact that every possible home out there can see this and realize that this is a fandom that is not going away. While there’s no guarantee it will work, it’s this sort of buzz that led to Lucifer being saved at Netflix and The Expanse finding a home over at Amazon. We have to think that there is a streaming provider or another network out there who could find a way to make Shadowhunters work for them — we know that there are budgetary issues and all sorts of legal hoops that would need to be worked out, but if someone wants the show badly enough, they will make it happen.
For now, congratulations to all Shadowhunters supporters — regardless of what happens, you’ve got a lot to be proud of for all of your efforts.
