Ghosted canceled (finally) at Fox; remaining episodes pulled
This news, according to TVLine, coincides with the network deciding that it is set to pull the remaining episodes from the schedule. One of the reasons why we’re particularly bummed about this is because at one point, it felt like Ghosted could have been a respectable hit for the network. It drew at least decent numbers in the fall and given its star power with Adam Scott and Craig Robinson at the center of it, you would’ve thought that this would be a show Fox would’ve wanted to hold onto.
Yet, that’s not what happened. Earlier this year they threw the series on a long hiatus and didn’t bring it back on the air until earlier this summer. At that point, the viewers just weren’t around anymore and without a ton of promotion, many people in general probably were not aware of the fact that the show was even back on the air. This is why we are hardly surprised to see it generate 0.4 and 0.5 ratings over the past couple of weeks.
The fact that Fox is pulling the remaining episodes just feels at this point like insult to injury. After all, it’s summer! Why not let the remaining few episodes air so that fans of this show can at least have a chance to see the rest of the story through? Unfortunately, Fox may just be of the mindset at this point that they really don’t care anymore. You’ve seen this with some of their recent actions canceling shows, as they completely obliterated just about their entire live-action comedy lineup earlier this spring and also canceled Lucifer while they are at. Ironically, they kept a show in Lethal Weapon despite a testy behind-the-scenes situation and it could’ve been easy for them to cancel it without as much outrage from viewers.
Are you as sad as we are that Fox seems to have completely ghosted Ghosted the series over the past several weeks? Be sure to share right now in the comments.
