Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 6 preview: Smurf applies pressure on J

Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 3

Moving into Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 6, there are a number of different things that you can anticipate. At the top of the list is significant pressure — especially when it comes to J, as he is struggling to figure out just how to keep himself afloat with all of the tasks Smurf is handing him behind bars. He has to figure out how to tie up Javi’s murder, while also dealing with conflict that’s present from Pope and also his broken relationship with Nicky. It does seem like she’s sticking around, but can their relationship be what it once was? It’s hard to imagine so, given that the only reason she seems to be there right now is because her dad didn’t seem all that interested in having her back.

For a little more news on what’s coming, just take a look at the Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 6 synopsis that Cartermatt has for you below:

J (Finn Cole) tries to make his relationship with Nicky (Molly Gordon) work as he faces pressure from Smurf (Ellen Barkin) to clean up loose ends from Javi’s murder. Craig (Ben Robson) gathers the boys to defend the Codys’ reputation in town when outsiders move in on their territory. Billy (Denis Leary) gives Deran (Jake Weary) an idea for a job.

Could this be the episode where we finally start to understand more of what Billy’s endgame is? It could very well be the case. We know that he’s putting on the pretense of wanting to bond with his son, but there’s gotta be something more underneath the surface with this guy. He just doesn’t come across as the sort of person who shows up unannounced and just chills out for no apparent reason — he’s a swindler.
