Bull season 3: Should there be a Jason Bull love interest?
Based on where the show is at the moment, there is certainly a case to be made to see this happen being that this is something that is very much on his mind. The end of season 2 is proof of that, given that he clearly still has feelings for his ex Isabella, so much so that he was having dreams about her running away from her fiancé and getting back with him. I don’t think that you have dreams like that unless you are interested in having love. Beyond just that, you can argue that the realization that Isabella was getting married was a major contributing factor in the heart attack that Bull had at the end of the season. It caused him incredible stress, and he likely devoted more of his time to the Elliott Miles case as a means to mask some of his sadness.
Given where Isabella is in her life, I have a hard time thinking that she is going to be there for Bull again. It’s time for him to turn the page, whether that means finding a new way to live or a new person in his life. There is no question that Bull does need to get himself together before he can contribute to a relationship. He needs to figure out how to establish a new routine and how to find some sort of refuge outside of the job. That may not be easy but over time, this is something that he could be able to figure out.
Beyond that, Bull will be able to offer something to a relationship and he does bring a lot to the table for one — he’s passionate, intelligent, and has a great job — if he could put as much into a relationship as he does his work, he could be one of the happiest people out there. He needs to just find a way to make a real relationship work beyond something fleeting like being with Diana Lindsay.
Who could be a candidate for this? You could certainly introduce a new character for it — personally, I think he should look for someone outside of the legal field to give his life balance. Within the legal field, Marissa is someone who could be there as a possibility since they know each other so well; yet, there is also a case that they work better as best friends and can have a different sort of intimacy with each other that you don’t often get to see on television where they turn romantic at some point.
