Poldark season 4 episode 4 preview: Tragedy in Cornwall
Throughout this episode, there are some difficulties that Ross will face as he tries to straddle being in Cornwall and taking on new leadership in London. It’s hard for any man to live within two separate worlds, and that will hold especially true for a man like Ross who tends to put his heart and soul into just about everything. He’s going to find some problems in Cornwall, but he does trust Demelza to put a stop to many of them. That is a wise move, but it doesn’t mean in the slightest that it’s going to be safe.
The Poldark season 4 episode 4 synopsis that we have for you below gives you a little more of a sense as to what’s coming up, especially when it comes to some sad times that lie ahead:
Lord Falmouth urges Ross to return to Westminster as George’s alliance with Adderley gives him the opportunity to purchase a borough of his own.
Dwight tells Caroline some devastating news about Sarah.
Ossie is seen visiting Rowella by her husband Arthur, who grows suspicious.
When Wheal Grace’s miners blast into Wheal Maiden’s tunnels it results in a disastrous flood, forcing Ross, Sam and Dwight into acts of heroism.
Emma returns to give Sam her answer, whilst Drake is persuaded into courting Rosina.
Ross remains in Cornwall and decides to plough his savings into resurrecting the mine rather than allow it to close and impoverish his employees. He then bids farewell to his family, confident in Demelza’s ability to govern in his absence. However, unbeknownst to Ross, George has secured the borough of St Michael, and with it his own return to Westminster.
The short version of this synopsis also references that there is a tragedy that will be coming within this episode — we suspect that it will have to do with Sarah, but you don’t want to view anything as a certainty just based on a handful of very-short teasers. Just prepare to stock up on tissues — we write this almost as though you probably won’t doing that already! At this point, tissues feel almost like a staple of any Poldark fan out there.
As for what else we can say in advance, we’re just hoping that Ossie finds a way to get what’s coming to him. Maybe it’s Arthur who finds a way to take this toolbox down a peg.
