Outlander, Starz has fun with the Summer Solstice

Today marks the Summer Solstice, and for any fan of Outlander that is a day of special significance. What this effectively means is that if there was ever a day to travel through time, this is it! (Well, if such things were possible in the real world…)

In a post on Twitter (see below), you can see a rather-funny PSA that Starz is putting out there in honor of the day — just in case you don’t want to fall back in time! One of the best things about this account is that they continue to be extremely aware of anything and everything related to the show and the source material.

Even though Claire is now situated firmly in the past, that doesn’t mean that season 4 is going to be devoid of time travel at all. (Note: Book spoilers ahead.) It’s a fairly well-known fact at this point that over the course of season 4, you are going to be seeing Brianna travel back in time to find her parents, and she will have a powerful, difficult journey as a result of that. Expect some heartbreaking moments, but we are looking very much forward to an opportunity to see Brianna and Jamie meet for the first time.

Given that there are still two more Diana Gabaldon books coming, who knows? It’s certainly possible that we could end up seeing time travel playing a role in the story still. That’s part of the fun when it comes to Outlander at the moment — there is still a sense of mystery when it comes to what lies far down the road.

New episodes of Outlander are going to start airing on Starz this November. While it would’ve been rather great to have something extra-special to commemorate this day (think along the lines of a teaser with some new footage), we know that the premiere is a rather long time out. With that in mind, there’s plenty of time to get back to this in the future. We’ll take the PSA for now.
