Goliath season 3: Could a Bosch crossover be a good idea?

At the moment, we should note that there is no Goliath season 3 renewal over at Amazon; but, we remain hopeful there will be. In the event that it does happen, there are certainly a number of different things that we would like to see, no matter how far-fetched they are.

Take, for example, the idea of doing a crossover with another Amazon series in Bosch. These are two very-popular shows on the streaming service, and in terms of style and tone, it is actually feasible to see the two of them crossover together. You have the police side of things covered in Bosch and then the courtroom side of it covered in Goliath. Why wouldn’t you want to have Billy Bob Thornton and Titus Welliver on the screen together? They both play trouble characters that excel at what they do and the potential for great drama is high if you throw the two of them into the same place together. How would they react to one another? Also, don’t forget that Bosch and Billy both live in Los Angeles, so they must’ve run into each other at some point over the years… right?

Of course, if you really wanted to make things more interesting you find a way to throw in Giovanni Ribisi and Sneaky Pete while you are at it. After all, we’re talking here about one of the most-popular series on Amazon as a whole! Have Marius commit a crime (which we all know he’s great at), get caught by Bosch and Billy steps in as his defense lawyer. Boom – the perfect trifecta.

Creatively, we do think that pairing some of these shows together could be successful, just from the vantage point of allowing the writers an opportunity to do something that’s creative and a little bit exciting. With that being said, though, we do also concede that the odds of this happening are very unlikely. You have to find a way in which to schedule it out since both shows are streaming and at different times and then also find a way to make the rest of the season for either show not get overtaken by it. At most we could see a Bosch/Goliath crossover special that’s maybe done a la Sherlock where it’s the length of a movie and tells just one story that is wrapped up by the end.

For now, at least we know that Bosch is coming back for another season. We’ll see just what happens when it comes to Goliath.
