Lucifer video: Tom Ellis’ fantastic new thank-you to fans
Some of you may remember that one of the most noteworthy interviews Ellis gave during the #SaveLucifer campaign was with BBC Newsnight, one where he explained his reaction to the show being canceled and why he still continued to have hope that it could find a new home somewhere else. Now, that hope — and a heck of a lot of campaigning from fans — has led to the series going over to Netflix. Ten episodes of Lucifer are coming up in the future (our feeling is most likely 2019), and Ellis checked back in to Newsnight to deliver a message quite like no other.
The video below showcases what basically is Tom’s transformation from mild-mannered man to devil. It’s rather fun, and it also shows you at the same time the sheer difference between the man and the character. It may also be the only bit of Lucifer we see for a little while, given Netflix isn’t going to have a trailer for a good while. Filming won’t begin for a while still, and after that of course the powers-that-be have to edit the footage together and then prepare for what is hopefully going to be an epic premiere like no other. After all of this waiting and the lengthy battle to save the series, imagine the party many Lucifans are going to have in celebration of the show finding its way back on the air. Even though it may require some patience, we’ve got a feeling that it will very much be worth it.
