Reverie episode 5 preview: How Monica Shaw needs the team

Reverie episode 5

Moving into Reverie episode 5, you may get a chance to see something that a number of people out there have been wanting: Insight into Monica Shaw.

To date, what we’ve learned about this character is that she is one of the people really responsible for funding the Reverie program and keeping it afloat. She wants to see it succeed, but it’s fair to say that she does not have anywhere near the same level of investment of an Alexis or a Paul. Her job is to keep the ship afloat, watching the funding, and monitor the situation from afar. Charlie is mostly her go-between with the rest of the crew.

Is that changing next week? It could be, at least temporarily, after it becomes clear that she may need the team’s help in the midst of a major crisis. Reverie could be used in a way to help determine who was responsible for starting the problem. Think a modified version of Minority Report, only here the crime has already been committed and you’re going back into the mind to learn a little bit more about it.

Below, the Reverie episode 5 synopsis offers up a little bit more information when it comes to the story ahead:

Monica Shaw (Kathryn Morris) seeks help from the team after a bombing kills dozens of people. Mara (Sarah Shahi) must dive into the mind of a coma victim to try and identify the perpetrator. Dennis Haysbert, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Jessica Lu also star.

In terms of the premise alone this could prove itself to be an exciting episode of TV, but we do still have many unavoidable questions beyond that. For example, how will this episode further along the journey to make Mara feel a little more stable? We don’t exactly think that we’ve seen the last of Oliver Hill on the series.
