The Flash season 5: Jessica Parker Kennedy to officially be series regular
Based on where season 4 ended, with her revealing herself to her parents Barry and Iris and also helping to ensure that DeVoe was defeated, it makes some sense for her character to want to stick around. This is a great opportunity for her to get to know a different version of her parents. With that, it’s also clear that she needs their help after screwing something up. That’s one of the reasons why she has turned up in the first place, though we do have plenty of questions regarding why she didn’t actually make her presence known to Barry and Iris quicker if she needed their help.
Jessica Parker Kennedy joins Hartley Sawyer and Danielle Nicolet as actors officially promoted to series regular for the upcoming season, and in general that makes the field feel rather stacked given that, other than DeVoe and Marlize, it’s not as though we’re losing too many characters coming up! Beyond that, of course, there’s also a villain that will probably need to be cast … unless you’re super-demented like we are and think there’s still a possibility that Kennedy is actually playing some sort of villain who is disguising herself as Barry and Iris’ future daughter in order to win over their favor. We recognize that there’s almost a zero-percent chance of this, but wouldn’t it be absolutely crazy if it happened?
New episodes of The Flash are officially going to premiere on The CW Tuesday nights this fall. Hopefully, there’s going to be some further insight on the subject of the show this summer via San Diego Comic-Con.
