Welcome to our Big Brother 20 houseguest spotlight series! In these articles, CarterMatt will be giving you a first look at all of the contestants taking part in this epic season premiering on Wednesday, June 27 on CBS. We are here to share with you some basic information, alongside some fun facts and early assessments of all the houseguests as players.

The focus of this particular spotlight is Tyler Crispen, a guy who has a name that says “I’m probably a surfer bro.” Yes, he is that oft-used casting type, though technically his job is lifeguard — basically, that thing he does when he’s not surfing. He’s 23 years old and lives in Hilton Head, South Carolina — though he’s originally from Ohio.

Houseguest comparison – He’s David Girton, Hayden Voss, Jace Agolli, or virtually any other person in that sort of vein. Not every one of these guys are technically surfers, but they have that same vibe and there is very little that separates Tyler from them other than that he stole Tim Dormer’s hair from Big Brother Canada.

Have they seen the show before? – Surprisingly, maybe. He likes Zach Rance, Victor Arroyo, and Dan Gheesling, meaning he’s at least aware of three separate seasons of the show. It’s possible that friends at home may have told him to say those names, but we’ll give him some benefit of the doubt.

Fun facts – He wants to take pre-workout supplements into the house, he likes working out, he surfs … oh, and one time he got stuck in a muddy hole for thirty minutes. He does say in his bio he “kinda” died when he fell off a pool slide as a kid, and that actually is an interesting story … as is the fact that he’s a champion bowler. Tyler has done something that is indoors!

Early assessment – His character type suggests he’ll be the first out, but we don’t imagine that he’s going to be as obnoxious as some others. There’s no way he wins, but he may last a few weeks until someone determines they don’t want him in that challenge where you fill up the bowls with the liquid.
