Shades of Blue season 3: Is someone leaving the show?

Shades of Blue

Obviously, we should make it very clear at this point that there are some big spoilers ahead in this article from the Shades of Blue season 3 premiere. Read on with this knowledge in mind.

If you’re okay with some spoilers, read on…

Unfortunately, it seems as though Gino Anthony Pesi is not making it until the series finale. In the closing minutes of the premiere, Harlee found James’ body and with that, her entire world almost immediate crumbled. This is someone who cares for her and loves her greatly, and there has to be an immediate cognizance on her part that without him, her entire life fundamentally changes.

For starters, losing the man she loves is going to probably cause Harlee to think about her world differently and some of the way in which she chooses to do business as a cop. Before finding James, she had made it clear to Woz that there were limits as to how far she was willing to go and wouldn’t do anything for the sake of helping him get revenge. Now, however, is that going to change? She is now a character who may be intent on revenge and doing everything within her power to avenge what happened here.

If Shades of Blue really needed a way to ignite Harlee and bring her closer to a cop who loses all of her soul, this feels like it is the perfect way to do it. We anticipate moving forward, a dark, dramatic episode that is going to push the stakes to a high level that we haven’t quite seen so far. Be prepared for that and then some.

Of course, we are going to miss Gino Anthony Pesi in the process. He brought a lot to James, and there is a massive void felt by his absence.
