Into the Badlands season 3 episode 9 return date speculation for AMC
Let’s start things off with this: At the time of this particular article, there is no confirmation of said return date for the martial-arts drama. It’s certainly possible that there will be an announcement made tonight with the midseason finale, and in the event that happens, we’ll have an update then.
Otherwise, our presumption at the moment is this when it comes to Into the Badlands season 3 episode 9 — more than likely, it’s going to be on the air a little bit later this summer. It certainly feels as though the show pairs well with Fear the Walking Dead on the schedule and there isn’t really any reason to change that. You can make a case, though, for airing this show directly after The Walking Dead this fall, especially with the future of Talking Dead somewhat unclear after the Chris Hardwick allegations. We presume that AMC could hire someone else if they officially want to move on from Hardwick, but it may take some time before some of that information is clear and that’s really not the point of this article, anyway.
Ultimately, what we want for Into the Badlands more so than anything else is an opportunity for it to be immensely successful, and with that, we mostly just hope that the show isn’t moved off Sunday nights for the second half of this season. This is a creative, incredibly-entertaining show that deserves at least one more season, and we want to see the ratings stay fairly steady the rest of the way. The numbers are down on average considerably this season, but AMC had to expect that on some level given that the show is not airing this year after new episodes of The Walking Dead proper. This is the position that it was in for a good chunk of season 2.
As for when we could see a substantial trailer for the second half of Into the Badlands season 3, we imagine that this is the sort of thing that could be revealed a little later in the summer … if everything goes according to plan.
Update: Still no return date
AMC didn’t announce much after the midseason, other than calling it a “season finale.” That has us slightly concerned that we could be waiting longer than August to see more episodes, but we’ll wait until an official announcement before confirming anything. Stay tuned…
