America’s Got Talent video: Trapeze duo Transcend show off their skill
This video features the audition of Transcend, an acrobatic duo who is coming on this season in hopes of getting their own Las Vegas act. Trapeze acts aren’t something that you see all that often anymore, but with this audition these two absolutely make a good case for there to be more of them. From start to finish, this is incredibly intense and precise. One wrong move, and there’s a dangerous accident. To up the danger further, the male counterpart of the act suffers from poor eyesight, so much of his performance in the act is based mostly on the sense of touch. Yet, it’s still pretty perfect from start to finish and the entire crowd is immensely impressed.
Do these two have a legitimate chance at getting a Golden Buzzer? Probably not, mostly because the acts teased in some of these videos rarely ever get one. Also, it tends to be singers / acts with big, emotional backstories who get that. If we were someone who felt like acts without a Golden Buzzer were unable to win, we’d probably be a little bit more upset about it. Yet, we’ve seen underdog acts win this show before — for example, we’re not sure Kenichi Ebina would have gotten one if they were around when he was a part of the show. Meanwhile, Paul Zerdin didn’t get one until making it to the Judge Cuts portion of the competition.
Transcend, so long as they can find some new ways to shake up their act, have a reasonably good shot at making it far this season. We are very much interested in seeing what happens.
