Code Black season 3 episode 8 review: Hope amidst horror
At the center of all of this was a story that was largely about family — Ethan had to help a family in need, Leanne had to face accusations as to whether or not she was a good mother, and of course, there was also the case of the aforementioned siblings. For Ethan, though, this episode was mostly about a father and son who, despite their medical crisis, somehow found a way to come together. It was another reminder of his own difficult family dynamics and how he may be forced to face a certain degree of change himself in his life.
Unfortunately, not every ending was a completely happy one, as the mother took the blame for her two children drinking the boiling water. Yet, there was still hope for the family’s future. There was hope for many families by the end of this regardless of everything that they went through.
Now, let’s turn to Max and Ariel
As it turns out, Max’s father has a short fuse. Ariel and Max just kissed and in the aftermath of that, he found himself at the center of a medical emergency. Minutes after reaming Leanne out, all of a sudden his tone changed and he actually did what he could in order to comfort Ariel as she was freaking out over the sight of Max. He ended up being okay, and on the other side of the emergency Max’s father apologized and everyone ended up on better terms. In the end, we do think that he just cares about his son and wants him to be okay — so much so that he doesn’t see the forest through the trees.
CarterMatt Verdict
Code Black season 3 tonight gave you a combination of many different things, but in the end, we saw some great risks, some difficult cases, and some additional reminders as to why we need more of the show. If nothing else, aren’t we getting closer to Rox and Willis getting together? Even though she’s only been around for this single season, we somehow are already very much invested in the idea of these two getting together.
