Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead proper not merging
However, it doesn’t quite seem like this is going to happen, despite whatever fan rumor is out there. This was confirmed by Fear the Walking Dead showrunner Ian B. Goldberg, who had the following message to pass along on the subject to ComicBook.com:
“We love The Walking Dead, we love Fear the Walking Dead … But our focus is really just on Fear the Walking Dead and making this… You know, telling the stories that we wanna tell on this show. And that’s really where we’ve focused our attention. So that’s where we’re at.”
We hope that as Fear the Walking Dead progresses, we do get a good sense as to where the remaining characters (sans, alas, Madison) are heading — we’re also pretty thrilled over the fact that we’re not going to see the two shows join forces. Fear the Walking Dead has been doing some rather outstanding work on its own lately, and we don’t really think that it needs to get all that messed up with the flagship show in the immediate future. It just doesn’t need all of the aggravation or the pressure. The Walking Dead is a series in the midst of its own crossover that needs to be figured out at the moment.
