Reverie episode 4 preview: Mara gets a warning

Reverie episode 4 is coming up on NBC in one week’s time and based on some of the information out there about it, this one is going to be very-important to Mara’s health and her future. We’ve already started to see things go a little haywire for her both outside of Reverie and within it, so what happens with Alexis’ one-time partner shows up and tells her that this program, ambitious as it may seem, is not all that it is cracked up to be? Are there some wrinkles in there that are hard to anticipate or understand? It’s certainly possible.

Below, the Reverie episode 4 synopsis gives you a little more information about that, and then also a very different Reverie that Mara is going to have to find herself in:

06/20/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : Alexis’s (Jessica Lu) former partner Oliver Hill (guest star John Fletcher) resurfaces and warns Mara (Sarah Shahi) that Reverie 2.0 has some dangerous side effects. Back at Onira-Tech, a BCI is stolen and Mara must go into a rogue Reverie. Dennis Haysbert, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Kathryn Morris also star.

What does a rogue Reverie look like? That’s a very good question given that it may not be anywhere near as carefully constructed as some of the ones that we’ve seen so far. It could be complicated to navigate through and, to go along with that, dangerous for someone who doesn’t understand the rules of the operation. No matter what happens during it, we will at least say that it’s great the series is already started to delve into the idea of shaking up the Reverie-of-the-week format just four episodes in. If the series does manage to get a second season (its live ratings aren’t great, but we hope it builds a following), there is more that could be explored here.
