The Originals season 5 episode 9 preview: Hope’s not giving up

The Originals

The Originals season 5 episode 9 is airing on the CW next week, and what makes this one especially important is that it is the last one airing in the month of June. On the other side of that, there is a brief hiatus for both June 27 and the 4th of July holiday. Hopefully, these episodes do enough to get you into the home stretch of the series and also raise a few interesting questions in the process.

Many of the biggest questions could be related to Hope, as we try to figure out exactly what it is that she is going to end up doing to get the family back together. We know that she loves the Mikaelsons, and we know that she feels a close kinship to many of them regardless of how much experience she has had around them over time. Unfortunately, her doing everything in her power to bring the family back together could have serious consequences. We’ve already seen some of those, and it does not appear as though they’re ending anytime soon.

Below, The Originals season 5 episode 9 synopsis offers up a little more insight when it comes to what lies ahead on the show:

TAKING THE POWER BACK – As Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood), Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Josh (Steven Krueger) work to clean up the city, an uprising of purist vampires leads the supernatural factions into a deadly showdown. Hope’s (Danielle Rose Russell) attempt to bring her family back together leaves her struggling with the consequences. Finally, Freya (Riley Voelkel) makes a life-changing decision. Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies also star. Bethany Rooney directed the episode written by K.C. Perry & Michelle Paradise (#509). Original airdate 6/20/2018.

In the end, what we are the most excited to see for The Originals forward is just a build up to something big. We don’t want to see this series come to a close without a few more surprises and without some characters either getting comeuppance or closure. We’ve lived in these peoples’ world for such a that we feel like we know them and care about them on a deep level. We don’t want to see many of them suffer, but some of them probably will. With Klaus, you do have to especially worry if he has just been through so much that there is no such thing as water under the bridge anymore.
