The Expanse season 4 writers room officially opens
In a new post on Twitter, the show’s writers room officially confirmed that they are back at work crafting new episodes. It is a very different world in some ways now thanks to the show being on Amazon, at least in terms of the delivery of the episodes and the potential support that they are going to get. This is of course assuming that there are no sweeping changes within the remainder of season 3. One of the craziest things about all of these stories that have come out about saving The Expanse is that it’s almost easy to forget that the show is actually still airing season 3 episodes. It’s a very weird situation in that some of the shows social channels are still being operated by Syfy, and they already cancelled the show! With that in mind, there are a lot of different messages out there but the important thing is that The Expanse is far from over.
As for how The Expanse was saved in the first place, Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke made it very clear that fans simply wouldn’t let them forget about them. Take a look at some of her comments via Deadline:
“There were airplanes circling us, I was having cakes delivered, there was a whole thing happening. And then really smart people, whose opinions I really value creatively, started reaching out to me, saying, ‘have you seen this show, The Expanse, it’s actually great.’ I hadn’t so I spent some time, I watched the show and I was like, this show is actually really well done, why is nobody watching it?
“At the same time, Jeff Bezos was getting emails from everyone from George R.R. Martin to every captain of industry, like the founder of Craigslist, and they were all writing, saying, there’s this show, it’s so great, you have to see it, you have to buy it or save it.”
Bezos is a noted fan of the source material, and that seemed to be the icing on the cake.
Are you glad that work has begun on The Expanse season 4? Be sure to share right now in the comments.
