The Originals season 5 episode 8 sneak peek: Can Kol help Elijah?

For those of you who love the Elijah character and want to see an epic story like no other, that seems to be front-and-center for The Originals season 5 episode 8 airing on The CW Wednesday night. At the center of this story you are going to see Daniel Gillies’ character effectively trapped within chamber alongside some other members of the Mikaelson clan. Over the course of this episode, you’re going to have a chance to see some important conversations that need to be had, and hopefully, some of these prove to be key to getting everyone out. That could include the one with Kol, which you can see in the sneak peek below via TVLine.

In this sneak peek, Nathaniel Buzolic’s character does his part to educate Elijah a little bit more in regards to some key events that happened in the past, which give this new iteration of Elijah some pause. One of the big questions that has been asked over the past few weeks is whether or not Elijah can learn the truth about everything that he’s done and still be okay with himself. It’s wrestling with the question of whether or not he is actually better off not knowing, and that is an interesting moral debate.

Yet, this is The Originals, and we’ve had a hard time imagining that he would be in the dark for the remainder of the series. That just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for the show we know or for some of the characters. Suffering is at the center of much of what they do.

With that in mind, we more than expect some sort of release from the situation by the end of the episode, and that there will probably be a few more devastating moments along the way. It’s difficult to imagine anything necessarily topping what happened with Hayley, but you never quite know what this show, do you?
