Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 4 preview: Surprising problems for everyone

Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 4

Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 4 is coming onto TNT next week and at the center of this one appears to be one of the most important missions that the Cody boys have taken on. Of course, with that this is also one that has enormous potential to go totally sideways. How else do you explain the idea of these guys trying to work without Smurf and Baz? Two of the most knowledgeable people are gone and they now have to rely on their limited experience and a combustible relationship to somehow carry the day. It’s going to be difficult, but we do think that it still could also be entertaining. We want to see a few more surprises, so maybe this episode will be a good source for them.

Before we write anything else, the Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 4 synopsis offers up some additional information and updates when it comes to what lies ahead:

With the cops on their tail, the Cody boys try to pull off their first heist without Smurf and Baz. They return to find unexpected guests waiting at the house. Smurf (Ellen Barkin) demands that J (Finn Cole) get rid of them as she deals with a problem of her own in jail.

Could this be the episode that finally allows Smurf out of prison? We do think that it’s going to happen eventually; for now, it’s most a question as to how it happens. (Who knows, though? Maybe the producers are gutsy enough to leave her there for the whole season.)

Overall, we imagine that Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 4 is going to be one of the most intense installments of the entire season — the show is on the cusp of changing in a rather big way and no matter the result of the heist, we imagine that there are still going to be big consequences.
