The Originals season 5: Candice King discusses Klaroline ending

Klaroline

Mrs. Carter: What is the ending for Klaroline going to be like by the time we get around to The Originals series finale?

At this particular point, I definitely feel there is a large contingent of people who want to see Klaus and Caroline get together. Why wouldn’t they? These two have been on a fairly incredible journey over the years, and Caroline even described it pretty perfectly in a scene that aired earlier this season. There was a reason for her to be afraid of him in the early going, but also an understanding that there was something more underneath. That curiosity may be turning into something more. While it is not a romance just yet, you certainly can see that the show is moving in some sort of direction with these two.

Of course, that does not guarantee a happy ending. As a matter of fact, far from it. When you are someone like Klaus Mikaelson, one of the things that you have to expect is drama and plenty of it. He has such a past and so many skeletons in his closet that at some point, it’s barely feasible to think that all of the bones and the skulls are going to come crashing down to the point where he can’t get out from under them anymore. Maybe this is why Candice King is being diplomatic in her discussions on the future of this relationship.

Speaking on this subject in a new interview with Us Weekly, the actress had the following to say:

“I never understood it, but I love that there’s such a dedication to this Caroline and Klaus love story … It just was a natural thing, knowing that The Originals was coming to an end, to really give the fans what they wanted. I think they deserved to see an element of that chapter coming to a close. I don’t know if everyone will be satisfied, but I think the majority will be pretty happy with the series finale.”

No matter what happens with Klaus and Caroline, the unfortunate news is that you are going to be waiting for a while to find out. As reported previously, The Originals is going to be on a hiatus at the end of this month and for the 4th of July. It will come back on the other side of it on July 11 to start airing the final stretch of episodes.
