When could Chicago PD season 6 start filming?

At the moment, it certainly is understandable if you have many questions and hopes for Chicago PD season 6 — after all, we imagine that there are many people out there who feel the same way! With the way in which season 5 ended, it does make a great deal to want more in terms of season 6 sooner rather than later.

However, we know already that season 6 is probably not premiering on NBC until late September. Meanwhile, the sixth season of the series proper is more than likely going to premiere in the middle of July. This is when production roughly started last summer and this is a timeline that seems to work really well for the series as a whole. There is probably more work for Chicago PD to do this summer than almost any other, mostly due to the fact that you have to address whether or not the show wants to cast someone new following the death of Olinsky. There is in theory a spot open in Intelligence and with that, there is some merit in finding someone new to bring in and shake things up even further. Or, it’s possible that the writers could go in a different direction and bring in a new uniform cop or two, something that they featured more prominently at one point before Burgess’ promotion.

Either way, we figure that come a month or so from now, there will be some more announcements on this and many other subjects. After all, with all three shows airing on the same night we feel like there’s going to be so much more anticipation for crossover announcements than we have ever seen before. There are also some other things that Chicago PD could reveal ahead of time, including what some of the overall themes are poised to be in the new season.
