Supergirl season 3 episode 22 video: How Reign and Samantha are linked

Supergirl season 3 episode 22Moving into Supergirl season 3 episode 22 airing on The CW Monday night, and judging from the video below one thing is going to become a little bit clearer: The ties that are still present between Reign and Samantha Arias.

As it turns out, separating the two physically was all part of a plan from Selena from the start, or at least that is what the new video below seems to suggest. In it, show executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller discuss how the plan for Selena now seems to be figuring out a way in which to bring back Reign on Earth using some of her own skills. However, in doing so Sam’s life force could be completely sapped away. As it turns out, now it feels like you can only have one or the other thriving and time is of the essence in order to save Sam. All of this is important to us just because Reign remains the Big Bad of the season in our eyes, and we do want her to have a presence in some form during tonight’s episode — even if it is brief, and even if she is defeated and we go back to having Sam in the finale.

It just feels like we should be getting some sort of proper Supergirl / Reign showdown — it’s something that most of this season has been built around. Not only that, but we do still feel with a lot of our heart that the best scenes of the season are the ones featuring these characters — how epic were the fight scenes at the end of the season 3 midseason finale? In terms of pure superhero action, that may be the best thing that we’ve seen on Supergirl through the first three seasons.
