Succession episode 3 preview: The story of ‘Lifeboats’

What is coming up on Succession episode 3 on HBO? There are a number of different things worth noting, but much of them begin with the episode’s title in “Lifeboats.” The strong implication there is rather clear in that there is someone who needs to be saved. It makes some sense that this particular show with go with this sort of name, largely because of the sort of series that this is at the moment. There are many different characters in need of a little bit of help in order to stay afloat. Heck, the entire Waystar company is still in grave danger in the midst of recent turmoil.

What’s coming over the course of episode 3 is that we’re going to see many people confronted with big decisions, and of course with desperate times comes desperate measures. There are many people stepping into new jobs and with, be prepared for a lot of trial and error to go along with some debates as to whether or not some of these people are qualified for some of these roles.

With Waystar’s stock plunging to dangerous lows, Kendall (Jeremy Strong) is confronted with a major crisis involving a secret bank debt. Upset with Marcia (Hiam Abbass) for pulling rank in the Roy apartment, Shiv (Sarah Snook) decides to enlist an old paramour to conduct a background check on Logan’s (Brian Cox) third wife. Kendall and Roman (Kieran Culkin) attend their first big meeting in their new roles, as do Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) and Greg (Nicholas Braun). Kendall tries to convince Rava (Natalie Gold) to give their marriage a second chance, and gets an unexpected reaction to his handling of Waystar from his father.
