Tony Awards 2018 red carpet live stream: Where, when to watch
So when does it begin? Think in terms of 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, or of course 2:00 p.m. for those of you who are on the West Coast. This is a chance to see some of the latest fashion trends in New York, and for theater performers to get a much-deserved spotlight outside of their roles. This is something that they really don’t get all that often, and that is in part why this show is so special

It will be hosted by Denny Directo — for the record, Directo seems like the perfect last name for someone working in the entertainment business. In addition to getting to see some of the latest fashion, we imagine that this live stream is also going to offer up a really great opportunity to learn about some of the nominees this year and the impact that they have had on the theater community. Let’s be honest here — the vast majority of viewers out there will not have seen a single one of the nominees live, let alone many of them. The Tony Awards are about education as much as they are a showcase. There’s a sense of idealism that comes from watching the show — it inspires young performers to make their dreams come true, and others may use this as an opportunity to live vicariously through others.
Let’s hope for a great show! Be sure to come back later, since we will have a little bit more insight on some of the various awards / notable moments as the night progresses. This year’s show is hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles. There will probably be a few musical moments with their partnership in mind, but also hopefully some very-funny ones as they look at the world through the eyes of the stage. We imagine that there will be many a topical reference as the night moves along.
