Agent Carter season 3: Marvel TV boss still open to idea
Speaking in a new Reddit AMA session promoting the launch of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, the comic company’s TV boss addressed the idea of getting more of the show with the following message:
Wouldn’t that be cool? Find us a network! Hayley [Atwell] has been so kind of saying she’d love to come back.
Unfortunately, finding a new home for Agent Carter was always the challenge with the show ever since ABC canceled it. Netflix didn’t have the streaming rights and with that in mind, they weren’t a suitable home at the time that the show ended.
The good news, though, is this: Because of Agent Carter being so much about one character, it’s probably a little bit easier for the show to come back down the road. Yet, there’s also no real timetable for it. If nothing else, we would love for there to be some sort of TV movie or brief, six-part miniseries down the line — there’s certainly a lot of untapped potential here since Peggy’s life really hasn’t been explored all that much elsewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fingers crossed that there’s some more news to share about this eventually — if it doesn’t happen, then at least we know that the series at least got two really strong seasons that explored a lot of interesting avenues for this character. That is more than some other characters get, especially in this age when there are a ton of new shows that arrive and find themselves canceled not too long after the fact.
