The Last OG season 2 premiere date hopes for Tracy Morgan, cast

Following tonight’s finale on TBS, what will The Last OG season 2 premiere date be? That’s a good question, and something that we certainly hope we’ve got some more answers on soon enough.

For now, though, know that there will be The Last OG season 2 coming up on the network at some point in the future. The network officially confirmed this news a little bit earlier this year, with star Tracy Morgan having the following to say in a statement:

“I would like to thank God, my family, the fans and TBS and everyone that has been given a second chance. We love you!!!”

From the start, it was clear that The Last OG was a huge success story for TBS. After all, it was the network’s most-watched comedy premiere in 2015. To go along with that, The Last OG has received nearly 25 million multiplatform viewers since its launch — or at least that’s what it was at the time of the renewal in April. This is a show that has a ton of potential, especially since it also stars Tiffany Haddish and has Jordan Peele as an executive producers. There are really talented people all around the show from the ground up and that is probably one of the many reasons why it is such a success.

As for when season 2 is going to premiere, the simplest answer is roughly in the new year. There is no reason to push anything along with it given that the core of The Last OG is recovery, and someone working in order to get a fresh new start for themselves after previously being incarcerated. This is a very funny series, but beyond just that one of the biggest reasons why it works so well is because it has such a deep emotional undercurrent in almost everything that it does.
