The full Take Two trailer is here, and it’s great
At the forefront of this series is Rachel Bilson (Hart of Dixie), who is playing an actress / recovering addict by the name of Sam Swift. Despite being in more than 200 episodes of a long-running detective series, she’s fallen on hard times. That’s why, as a means of recovering and preparing for an upcoming role, she decides to go undercover with Eddie (Eddie Cibrian), a notable private investigator. At first, he perceives her to be a colossal irritant but over time, he realizes that there are some advantages to working with someone like her. For starters, she’s someone who has learned a lot about crime-solving thanks to inhabiting a character within the fictional world. Beyond that, she’s could be really good at going undercover! If anyone is going to be able to inhabit the world of some fictional characters, isn’t it going to be her?
On some level, it feels easy to telegraph the journey here: Sam and Eddie are going to grow close over the course of their time working together and with that in mind, it feels easy to assume that they could eventually get together romantically. This show comes from the Castle duo of Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller, so if that does happen we’re sure that they will give viewers time to simmer in the will-they-or-won’t-they first. That is precisely what they did with Castle and Beckett on the original show.
