Supergirl season 3 episode 22 preview: The quest to stop Selena

Supergirl season 3 episode 22

Supergirl season 3 episode 22 carries with it the title of “Make It Reign,” but judging from the preview below it’s actually not all that clear as to precisely what is happening with this character.

Instead, the best way to describe the crisis coming to Earth at the moment is this: Selena has arrived and she means business. She was the architect of the Worldkillers from the start and she’s certainly a formidable opponent as a result of that. After all, doesn’t every season at this point seem to conclude with some sort of evil Kryptonian / Daxamite trying to destroy all of National City? We’re right back in that place right now.

Below, the Supergirl season 3 episode 22 synopsis offers up a little bit more insight in the way of what is coming next:

SUPERGIRL PREPARES FOR BATTLE – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) learns the true depth of Serena’s (guest star Anjali Jay) nefarious plans for Earth. Supergirl, Mon-El (Chris Wood) and Alura (guest star Erica Durance) must devise a plan to stop her before Serena gets to Earth. J’onn (David Harewood) prepares to say goodbye to his father (guest star Carl Lumby). Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode written by Ray Utarnachitt & Cindy Lichtman (#322).

Probably the most positive thing we can say right now is that Supergirl at least does have some help — after all, we’re going to be getting Erica Durance suiting up in a proper costume! We know that there are a lot of people wondering where Superman is in all of this, but we’re almost equally curious about why we haven’t gotten more Marian Manhunter in action. CGI budget probably has a thing to do with it, but still.

No matter what happens over the course of this particular episode, signs point towards it leading towards a big finale at the end of the month. That should be very much game-changing as we move into season 4.
