Into the Badlands season 3 episode 6: Who died?

Into the Badlands season 3 premiere date

Into the Badlands season 3 episode 6 brought you many different important stories, but one of the most notable ones is clearly what happened in the closing seconds. Pilgrim has claimed a new life, and it just so happens to be a young man he was once fond of: Castor.

Following a battle in which Castor started to showcase more of his violent side, Pilgrim chose to make the decision to, effectively, put him down. Some of the information that he had from The Widow was causing chaos, especially in terms of him going after MK. Nix and MK went away, and it was at this point Pilgrim decided to put him down — and this is after the whole kidnapping negotiation earlier in the episode, no less.

What we think this death showed more than anything else was the very specific code in which Pilgrim chooses to operate. He is convinced within his own beliefs and willing to do precisely what needs to be done — even if it wasn’t easy. You could see in his eyes that this was a move he dreaded to make on some level.

Also, we got another reminder within the final minutes that characters played by Dean-Charles Chapman do not tend to last altogether long. You saw this with Tommen on Game of Thrones and tonight, you saw it with Castor. As to where things go from here on the show, that’s something that we’ll have to see … but we imagine that there are going to be some pointed reactions to happened here.

We’ll admit that the closing minutes of the episode tonight served as a pretty big distraction mentally from what was otherwise a fantastically-entertaining journey through Baije’s past earlier on in the episode. When you have an actor like Nick Frost on your show, doesn’t it make sense that you find creative ways in which to use him? We like to think so and this episode is a really great reminder of that very thing.
