Insecure season 3 teaser: Return of the mirror raps
For those of you who love Issa’s moments of affirmation / humor in front of the mirror, you’re going to love this one as she performers a little rap for herself before eventually interrupted by Daniel. Following this, things (eventually) become what you would expect and Issa goes about her way.
There are two primary purposes to this teaser, at least mostly based on what we are seeing here.
1. Bringing back the mirror – This was a really delightful part of the first two seasons of the show and with that, we’re pleased to say that it is once more a really delightful part of the show again.
2. Learning that Daniel and Issa are still a thing – Signs pointed towards this being the case at the end of season 2, but there’s always a chance to see things change over time.
So where do the rest of the characters fit in with this show at the end of the day? That’s something that we do still have many different questions about. That’s especially true for Lawrence, given that he and Issa became in some ways ships passing in the night during the season 2 finale. He was starting to reach more of his potential, but unfortunately things between him and Issa didn’t end up working out like a part of her wanted.
New episodes of this series will officially premiere on August 12, and we certainly hope that the story contains precisely what we would want: A perfect combination of relatability and humor. This is a show anchored mostly by a great story, but it does want to make you laugh just about every step of the way.
