Our Girl season 4 episode 1 spoilers: What’s next for Georgie Lane?

After a long hiatus Our Girl season 4 episode 1 is set to air on BBC One come Tuesday, June 5 — and based on some of the information that we have, there is a lot to be excited about! The Michelle Keegan series almost right away is going to focus on a number of important things, and one of its central themes may just be recovering from loss. The early part off the season is steeped in tragedy that way but Georgie Lane is going to move forward. For someone like her, one of the best things that she can possibly do is move forward. Her drive is one of the reasons why Georgie is so popular — yet, in doing so, we also recognize that there is a certain degree of danger she could put herself in! You never want to move along too quickly in anything, given that the more you do that, the more risk you often encounter in turn.

Below, the Our Girl season 4 episode 1 synopsis offers up some additional insight in regards to what is coming up on the series next:

Still grieving and heartbroken from the death of Elvis Harte, Lance Corporal Georgie Lane (Michelle Keegan) is sent to Nigeria on a training mission, alongside 2-section.

Working as part of the British Army’s effort to help train local forces in the fight against terror, Georgie throws herself into work helping to train local medics, as well as overseeing a local women’s health initiative.

However, whilst 2-section work hard helping to equip the Nigerian Army, everyone is soon put on edge when they encounter a local crime boss and a seemingly ruthless band of mercenaries in the village near where a group of school girls have been abducted.

As 2-section try to help the Nigerian forces locate the missing schoolgirls, Georgie unknowingly places herself and other members of 2-section in grave danger, when they go off grid.

Will Georgie find a way to get herself, and some of those close to her in 2-section, out of this danger over the course of this episode? This is something we’re hopefully going to find out over time! We’re excited to see what the series decides to do with it.
