The Good Doctor season 2 progress report: What’s happening behind the scenes?

Good Doctor season 2

If you are like us, then there is a reasonably good chance that you want The Good Doctor season 2 as soon as humanly possible. It’s been a long time since season 1 ended (a symptom for the show only having 18 episodes), but the good news is that there’s been some work going on behind the scenes for some time.

Take, for example, the writers room, which has actually been open for some time! We’ve already learned about some of the additions and departures leading into the new season and hopefully, some more insight will start to creep in over the coming weeks. What we can also tell you now is that there’s plenty of work being done behind the scenes to build some new sets and prepare for some great scenes coming featuring some of your favorite characters.

For a little more insight on that, you don’t have to look further than Daniel Dae Kim’s Twitter account! Kim posted a video recently on his social-media page showing that there are some new stages being built, which we imagine is going to give the hospital an even more immersive feel. We already think that the St. Bonaventure Hospital is one of the most aesthetically pleasing TV hospitals out there, so it should prove to be very exciting seeing precisely what happens next.

Kim, for those who are not aware, is an executive producer on the ABC series, and really he is one of the people most responsible for adapting it from the Korean format and getting it on the air in America. We’ve certainly made our case before to see him on the show (and will probably continue to do so), but even if he never does we do want to continue to recognize his contributions behind the scenes. He’s very hands-on and we saw a lot of behind-the-scenes teasers from him during season 1.
