NCIS: Los Angeles season 10: When should Sam get his closure?

Sam Hanna

It’s tricky to write about NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 for a wide array of different reasons, but with one of the biggest ones being that there are still so many questions that are still hard to answer. We still don’t know whether or not Sam, Callen, Kensi, or Deeks survive the cliffhanger ending!

For the sake of this article, we’re going to be optimistic for at least one character and assume that Sam survives, especially given that he’s got a lot to live for and we don’t like the idea of the writers killing both Sam and Michelle in less than a two-year span. Losing Michelle still remains one of the most gut-wrenching deaths in recent memory on the show; not only that, but it’s still a story that in some ways needs to be resolved. We still need to see him finishing the boat and heading out on it with his family — heck, it’d be nice to see the rest of the family in general.

The reality here is that sometimes, it’s hard to fit in some of these personal stories on a show like this; not only do you have to find the right time to tell them, but you also have to make sure that the right actors are around, as well. It’s not as though NCIS: Los Angeles can keep all of its guest stars to be available every second of the day when they have other jobs! We doubt that this had to do with a lack of resolution this past season; instead, it just felt like the writers had other priorities for the finale given that there are some big stories still in need of resolution in between Deeks / Kensi and also the investigation into Anna.

We’re hoping that at some point early on in season 10, NCIS: Los Angeles does get a chance to revisit things with. To be specific, nearly losing his life in Mexico does feel like it’d be a pretty good catalyst for him to finish up work on his boat and honor Michelle; he may feel like time is more of the essence than ever after nearly losing his life.
