The Last Kingdom season 3 premiere date speculation: When could it be?
What we do know at the moment is this: The latest batch of episodes is officially done filming! Shooting concluded on season 3 last month and with that in mind, we’re now just waiting to see when the BBC and Netflix work to organize some of the start times all over the world.
For one clue as to when the show could premiere, you just have to look back at some other start dates in the past. For example, there was a wait of around 15 or so months from the end of season 1 to the start of season 2. If there was a similar pattern this time around, season 3 would likely start in late summer/early fall. However, given the end date of filming we would also speculate that it will likely be a little bit later. As of round now, we’re thinking that mid-to-late fall is going to be when The Last Kingdom returns; hopefully, a more official premiere date will come out a little bit later this summer.
In terms of content, it does feel clear that there is so much more within this world to explore based on A) where the series is in its history at the moment and B) how much ground was covered over the course of the first two years. It and Vikings share many characters and much like Vikings, it could have an almost-unlimited run depending on how much the powers that be want to extend the story and focus on a wide array of different characters.
Once there is a little bit more news to announce on the future of The Last Kingdom, rest assured, we will have it for you here!
