America’s Got Talent video: Aaron Crow has hot wax and a sword

Aaron Crow

CarterMatt hasn’t made this a secret over the years with our America’s Got Talent coverage — we love a really good danger act. There’s nothing like being horrified watching someone come out on stage and really try to blow our mind.

Ultimately, the video below gives us a great chance to meet Aaron Crow who delivers as dangerous an act as you’re going to find. In this video is does a number of different, dangerous stunts using a wide array of weapons — which of course culminates with him taking out a sword and slicing a pineapple atop Howie Mandel’s head. For those of you who consider watching the judges almost get murdered as the perfect brand of entertainment, there is obviously quite a bit here to like.

We also do think it helps Aaron that he is so stoic, quiet, and intense through almost the entirety of this video. He doesn’t speak or really do anything other than complete his act and terrify the audience. (Of course, even more can be said for Howie here.)

Here’s our frustration with this audition: As someone who watches both the US edition and Britain’s Got Talent, the producers basically had Aaron on to do the same exact act that he did on that show years ago — if you compare the two videos below, even the backing music is the same! We don’t blame Aaron so much for this, given that this is his talent and this is precisely what he does — you wouldn’t critique a singer for going out on stage and performing the same song twice! We do just wish, though, that AGT production had taken into consideration that in the savvy internet age, people would be able to look up the last act online and see that this is very much the same thing. Still, we know that Aaron has so many tricks up his sleeve beyond his this act, so it should prove very interesting to see how far he makes it this season.
