Power season 5 poster talk: Ghost’s alliance takes center stage
After spending this past season at times battling both Kanan and Tommy, Ghost is now in a position in which he is aligning with the two again. The poster (via TVLine) is reminiscent of the earlier days of the show — and, in turn, the earlier days of his life. As for why this is so important in this particular moment, that is fairly simple: Ghost is set to go to war against Dre, who throughout the series has assembled an empire of his own, but it may not be one that he is quite ready for. There is a vulnerability there that could be exploited by these three … provided, of course, that they are able to effectively work together without any serious bumps in the road along the way. They may be savvy and incredibly smart, but they are also imperfect (as all of us are). They also have so much history and water under the bridge that it’s really hard to fathom too many situations in which they are going to be able to work together long-term.
This new batch of episodes is slated to premiere on Starz come Sunday, July 1, and we hope that it can match both the drama and the intensity that we saw in season 4. Ghost is entering this season in a torn-up place following the death of his daughter Raina, and we still don’t quite think we have seen the full extent of what some of the aftereffects to this could be. By the end of the season, we could see this character either trying to rise above or completely crumbling.
